Patient Access Specialist

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is consistently among the top-ranked hospitals for orthopedics and rheumatology by U.S. News & World Report. We are seeking a highly visible customer service professional to join our team as a Patient Access Specialist.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain authorizations for surgical and radiology procedures
  • Verify insurance and obtain benefits
  • Communicate with physician offices regarding status of authorizations
  • Collect payments for inpatient and ambulatory procedures
  • Request and deliver estimates for hospital services prior to service

We offer a competitive salary of $30,080 - $32,340 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience
  • Two years in a healthcare or related customer service field
