Job Summary

Kalitta Charters II is a leading provider of scheduled and on-demand narrow-body freighter operations. Our company specializes in delivering safe and reliable logistics solutions to our customers across the Americas.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Technician to join our team. As an Aircraft Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all inspections, servicing, repairs, and maintenance are performed in accordance with the appropriate aircraft maintenance manual, company policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preflight and post-flight checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness
  • Discrepancy repair and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues
  • Safely working in a shop environment using tools and equipment as necessary
  • Completing assigned tasks outdoors and in inclement weather if required
  • Ensuring that work performed is inspected by the appropriate inspection personnel
  • Completing required documentation for work performed
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing aircraft and/or engines as assigned
  • Completing required training as assigned
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Using basic computer skills to complete and document tasks
  • Working productively individually or with an assigned crew
  • Working with integrity and a desire to maintain a high-quality standard
  • Reporting failures or deficiencies immediately
  • Passing background checks and random drug testing
  • Working overtime and/or weekend shifts as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Airframe or Powerplant certificate (both preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office computer systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience working on B-727 and B-737 aircraft
  • Diversified experience in maintenance on large fixed-wing aircraft
Work Environment and Culture
  • Candidates must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screens and DOT/FAA compliant background checks
  • Candidates must be able to understand, read, and write English

Physical Requirements
  • Employees are regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required (up to 70lbs)
  • Must be able to climb and use a ladder, work stands, platforms, and lift equipment
  • Work within a confined workspace(s)
Location and Shift Requirements
  • Operation based in Ypsilanti, MI at Willow Run Airport (YIP)
  • No ability to work from home
  • No relocation package for this position
  • Must be available full-time and work overtime when required
