ABOUT FEAM:

The Aircraft Maintenance Oversight Manager reports directly to the Director of Base Maintenance and is accountable for the comprehensive maintenance of Customer Aircraft during Service Checks. In the absence of the Aircraft Maintenance Oversight Manager, the Director of Base Maintenance may assign responsibilities to a designated individual. This role encompasses the planning, direction, and coordination of departmental activities, aligning them with other departments as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all personnel under management adhere to the company's established safety protocols while performing their duties.
  • Oversee that the repair and overhaul of all components and aircraft within the jurisdiction are executed within the authority and rating of the repair station, ensuring that a qualified inspector reviews the work.
  • Conduct interviews, assessments, and hiring processes for personnel within the department.
  • Monitor progress and evaluate new employee performance during their probationary period.
  • Provide training and guidance to subordinates on appropriate work procedures and practices.
  • Ensure department personnel have access to necessary tools, testing devices, and up-to-date technical data for all components and aircraft serviced by the department, including manufacturer manuals and FAA-approved data.
  • Maintain all departmental equipment and tools in optimal working condition, ensuring regular checks and calibrations are documented through the computerized calibration program managed by the Logistics Manager.
  • Verify that technicians accurately complete all required maintenance entries on the maintenance forms utilized by the repair station.
  • Assess the quality of work performed by technicians.
  • Ensure proper handling and tagging of all materials and removed parts from the aircraft during service, with appropriate disposal of scrap parts upon completion of work.
  • Guarantee that the Company's Turnover Log is utilized and accurately filled out in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized department environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proficient in reading and writing English.
  • Must pass airport security background checks and be willing to travel for work as necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License is mandatory.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, and utilize hand and finger dexterity, including climbing, balancing, bending, or crawling, sometimes in elevated or precarious locations.
  • Capability to frequently lift, push, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Acknowledge working in proximity to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals, and exposure to loud noises.
  • Ability to operate equipment and interpret technical information.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Boeing Wide Body Jet aircraft is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in leading and managing teams servicing Boeing 37, 47, 57, 67, and 77 aircraft is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
