Position Overview:
The Aircraft Maintenance Project Leader is accountable for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul initiatives, ensuring alignment with defined work scopes and established turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables that align with organizational goals.
- Formulate and implement project plans to ensure timely delivery of work scopes.
- Assess resource requirements and necessary skill sets to meet project objectives.
- Monitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Prepare and present progress reports, maintaining robust communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying potential challenges and developing contingency strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, customer expectations, and company policies throughout all projects.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths effectively.
- Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies to address potential project risks.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to prescribed safety protocols during their duties.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by technicians to maintain high standards.
- Ensure proper handling of materials and accurate completion of documentation.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks and follow-up activities in a timely manner.
- Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of analyzing information and employing problem-solving techniques.
Education & Experience:
Extensive experience in MRO checks, including heavy maintenance, is required. Proven experience in team leadership is essential. An active FAA A&P certification is mandatory. Project Management Institute PMP certification is preferred.
