Plaskolite Inc is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Supervisor for our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in crafting and executing health and safety strategies, enforcing organizational policies, evaluating risks, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The Supervisor will also manage the safety training initiatives, conduct incident investigations, and provide insights for ongoing enhancements, aiming to foster a secure and compliant workplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct thorough assessments of current and potential safety and health risks and propose preventive or corrective measures.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to facilitate the onboarding of new employees, ensure completion of safety orientations, and enroll them in necessary safety training programs to comply with all regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and uphold compliance with all health and safety regulations; this may involve liaising with external agencies and services such as Industrial Hygienists and Insurance Representatives.
  • Organize and lead safety committee meetings; delegate action items and monitor their completion.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports on injuries, statistical data, accident occurrences, and necessary government documentation to identify areas for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with production personnel and supervisors to act as a resource for safety policies, action plans, regulatory guidance, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform monthly audits and weekly safety inspections, documenting all findings; create and assign action items and ensure their completion.
  • Manage injury claims for workers' compensation, coordinating with HR to act as a liaison between injured employees and the claims management team to facilitate a timely return to work.
  • Oversee the management of personal protective equipment through vending services and maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Maintain all professional certifications required to meet regulatory standards.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health and Safety, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local OSHA regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, organize, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Experience in project management and cost control.
