Description: Job OverviewRole Summary

Plaskolite Inc is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Supervisor for our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in crafting and executing health and safety strategies, enforcing regulations, evaluating risks, and ensuring adherence to legal standards. The Supervisor will manage the safety training initiatives, investigate incidents, and propose enhancements aimed at fostering a secure and compliant workplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct thorough investigations of current and potential safety and health risks and recommend preventive or corrective measures.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to facilitate the onboarding of new employees, ensure completion of safety orientations, and enroll them in safety training programs to comply with all regulatory mandates.
  • Oversee and uphold compliance with all health and safety regulations; this may include coordination with external agencies and services such as Industrial Hygienists and Insurance Representatives.
  • Organize and lead safety committee meetings; assign action items and monitor their completion.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports on injuries, statistical data, accident occurrences, and required government documentation to identify areas needing corrective action.
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with production personnel and supervisors to serve as a resource for safety policies, action plans, regulatory interpretations, and risk management initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits, safety observations, and maintain accurate records; create and assign action items and ensure their completion.
  • Manage injury claims for workers' compensation; work closely with HR to act as a liaison between injured employees and the claims administrator to facilitate timely return to work.
  • Oversee the management of personal protective equipment through vending services and maintain up-to-date inventory.
  • Maintain all necessary professional certifications to comply with regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health and Safety, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local OSHA regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in multitasking, organizing, prioritizing, and adhering to established deadlines.
  • Skills in project organization and cost management.
