Veterinary Imaging Specialist

The University of Tennessee is looking for a committed Veterinary Imaging Specialist to become part of their esteemed team. This position involves executing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on a variety of veterinary species patients utilizing advanced MRI technology. The Specialist will be accountable for the upkeep of imaging equipment, establishing imaging protocols, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI procedures and finalize image reconstructions.
  • Coordinate daily MRI operations and assess imaging requests.
  • Support patient preparation and liaise with radiologists and other personnel.
  • Oversee MRI equipment maintenance, instruct on MRI safety, and enhance imaging protocols.
  • Provide assistance in additional radiology sectors as required.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of completed studies.
  • Maintain required professional certifications.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology. Certification in Radiology and MRI must be obtained within the first year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Over 2 years of experience in MRI with equipment of 1.5 Tesla or higher.
  • Familiarity with Siemens MRI systems.
  • Certification in Radiology and MRI.
