About the Role

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. Our hospital is dedicated to delivering comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs to patients in North Texas who require continued care to recover completely.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a warm and welcoming experience for visitors, directing them and answering any questions they may have.

• Initiate medical records upon admission, maintaining them throughout the patient's stay, and closing the record upon discharge within the electronic medical record.

• Follow up on doctors' orders to ensure timely completion.

• Process patient and special charges accurately and efficiently.

• Serve as the unit receptionist for incoming and outgoing calls, as well as visitor information.

• Interact frequently with unit personnel, physicians, visitors, patients' families, and other ancillary hospital personnel to provide and receive information.

• Have contact with patients, answering their lights, fulfilling non-care item requests, attending appointments, and working in the café. Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor in all interactions.

• Position involves multitasking in a high-stress environment, requiring constant mental alertness and the ability to calmly and accurately perform duties despite frequent interruptions.

• Exercise judgment and initiative in resolving problems encountered.

• Ensure that all patient and unit equipment, supplies, and procedures are ordered and received.

Requirements

• High school diploma required, with two years of college-level education preferred.

• Computer experience necessary.

• Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

• Ability to work with all levels of medical personnel, patients, and families.

• Ability to speak and write concisely with knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
