Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:



Promptly acknowledges and assists visitors, directing them as needed.Initiates and maintains medical records for patients throughout their stay, ensuring accurate closure upon discharge.Follows up on doctors' orders to ensure timely execution.Processes all patient and special charges efficiently.Acts as the unit's receptionist, managing incoming and outgoing calls and providing visitor information.Engages regularly with unit staff, physicians, visitors, patients' families, and other hospital personnel to facilitate information exchange.Interacts with patients, addressing their needs, responding to requests, and assisting in various capacities, including attending appointments.Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and accuracy amid frequent interruptions.Exhibits sound judgment and initiative in resolving issues that arise.Ensures the timely ordering and receipt of all patient and unit supplies and equipment.Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High school diploma is required; two years of college education is preferred.Proficiency in computer systems is necessary.Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.Ability to collaborate effectively with medical personnel, patients, and their families.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a familiarity with medical terminology being beneficial.
