Rehabilitation Unit Receptionist

This role offers an opportunity to be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team committed to providing exceptional care for individuals in North Texas on their journey to recovery.

Responsibilities:
Promptly acknowledges and assists visitors, addressing their inquiries and directing them as needed.Initiates and maintains patient medical records from admission through discharge within the electronic medical record system.Follows up on physician orders to ensure timely execution.Processes all patient and special charges accurately.Acts as the primary receptionist for incoming and outgoing communications, as well as visitor inquiries.Engages regularly with healthcare personnel, physicians, visitors, patients' families, and other hospital staff to facilitate effective communication.Interacts with patients, which may include responding to patient requests, accompanying them to appointments, and assisting in the café, all while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, requiring constant mental focus and the ability to manage interruptions effectively.Exhibits sound judgment and initiative in resolving issues that arise.Ensures the procurement and receipt of all necessary patient and unit supplies and equipment.Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma is required; two years of college education is preferred.Proficiency in computer usage is necessary.Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.Ability to collaborate with various levels of medical staff, patients, and their families.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with familiarity in medical terminology being a plus.
