The MedChi is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Assessment and Intensive Treatment (AIT) Psychiatrist to provide critical care to veterans presenting in emergency situations. The primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive safety and risk assessments, performing urgent evaluations, and offering psychiatric consultation services as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough safety assessments for veterans in emergency settings.
  2. Provide urgent psychiatric evaluations and consultations.
  3. Occasionally cover inpatient psychiatric services as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a United States citizen or meet specific VA recruitment criteria.
  2. Possess a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  3. Hold a current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
  4. Completion of residency training in psychiatry is mandatory.

This role is essential in ensuring that veterans receive timely and effective psychiatric care in critical situations.
