About the Role

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Physician - Assessment and Intensive Treatment Psychiatrist to join our team. As a member of our Mental Health Care Line, you will provide direct care to Veterans with complex psychiatric and substance abuse issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical examination, diagnosis, crisis intervention, patient management, consultation, and documentation in clinical records.
  • Work as a member of the Psychiatric Evaluation Center (PEC) to provide safety and risk assessment for Veterans presenting to the Emergency Department.
  • Triage acutely suicidal callers who are referred to the PEC.
  • Provide occasional coverage for acute inpatient psychiatric patients and psychiatric consult coverage.
  • Occasionally order and administer Ketamine and Esketamine in clinic.
  • Provide Electric Convulsive Therapy (ECT).
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with On Call Coverage.
