Physician - Assessment and Intensive Treatment Psychiatrist

The AIT Psychiatrist in the Mental Health Care Line serves to provide direct care for Veterans who present with complex psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides high-quality clinical examination, diagnosis, crisis intervention, patient management, consultation, and appropriate documentation in clinical records.
- Works as a member of the Psychiatric Evaluation Center (PEC).
- Provides safety & risk assessment for veterans presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Triage acutely suicidal callers who are referred to the PEC.
- Provides occasional coverage for acute inpatient psychiatric patients.
- Provides occasional psychiatric consult coverage.
- Orders and administers Ketamine and Esketamine in clinic.
- Provides Electric Convulsive Therapy (ECT).
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with On Call Coverage.
