Physician - Assessment and Treatment Specialist

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Physician - Assessment and Intensive Treatment Psychiatrist to join our team. As a member of our Mental Health Care Line, you will provide direct care to Veterans with complex psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical examination, diagnosis, crisis intervention, patient management, consultation, and documentation in clinical records.
- Work as a member of the Psychiatric Evaluation Center (PEC) and provide safety & risk assessment for Veterans presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Triage acutely suicidal callers who are referred to the PEC and provide occasional coverage for acute inpatient psychiatric patients.
- Provide occasional psychiatric consult coverage and order/administer Ketamine and Esketamine in clinic as needed.
- Provide Electric Convulsive Therapy (ECT) as required.
- Competitive salary and annual performance bonus.

- Possible 5-day paid absence for CME.

- No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
- 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Ability to work as a member of the Psychiatric Evaluation Center (PEC) and provide safety & risk assessment for Veterans presenting to the Emergency Department.
