Job Overview

This role is essential for enhancing revenue generation at designated Sherwin-Williams retail locations within a specified region by executing sales and marketing initiatives, conducting training sessions, and managing service and merchandising tasks. The number of stores under management may vary based on regional factors and store performance, typically ranging from 3 to 5 stores, with an average of 4 stores per territory.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Initiatives
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with store personnel, management, and fellow district representatives.
  • Consistently advocate for and showcase the brand and product advantages to store associates and customers, identifying competitive strengths and weaknesses.
  • Leverage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to record sales interactions and store visits, while also gathering competitive intelligence.
  • Organize contractor events to promote product offerings and drive sales growth.
  • Ensure that promotional materials, pricing, and signage are accurately displayed in each store.
  • Create an Annual Growth Plan (AGP) for assigned stores that aligns with sales and profit objectives.
Training Responsibilities
  • Facilitate product knowledge training sessions for both existing and newly hired store associates, covering product features, benefits, and sales techniques.
  • Provide sales training to new and current staff members.
  • Conduct training on promotional displays for store associates.
  • Instruct associates on how to engage customers in color consultations.
  • Train store personnel on equipment operation, including tinting machines.
Service Duties
  • Assist store associates with paint mixing and tinting as required.
  • Conduct a thorough review of all Sherwin-Williams products in the store to ensure proper stock levels and displays, replacing any defective items.
  • Make sales calls to local contractors and property managers to enhance professional paint sales.
Merchandising and Displays
  • Oversee the maintenance of store signage, merchandising displays, and color samples.
  • Manage inventory of marketing materials to ensure adequate supply.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Review and manage Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, focusing on expense management and tracking.
  • Support fellow Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Participate in required conference calls and training sessions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports promptly, including mileage and expense tracking.
Qualifications

Education:
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see consistently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
