Job Title: Marketing and Communications Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Schreyer Honors College team as a Marketing and Communications Specialist. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the college's programs, events, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a multichannel marketing and communications plan to engage and inform various constituents, including students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
  • Write and edit engaging content for various platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and the college's website.
  • Conceptualize and coordinate multimedia storytelling through videography and photography.
  • Oversee the production of a print/digital annual magazine, including planning stories, writing content, and coordinating multimedia web content.
  • Maintain a content calendar and work with Schreyer staff to plan content and distribution methods to best reach our audiences.
  • Write remarks for the dean and other Schreyer leadership for use during events, alumni engagement, and prospective student programs.
  • Hire and supervise student interns to assist with content development.
  • Attend college events as needed to assist with capturing content or event logistics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to write for a variety of platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate well as part of a team.
  • An interest in multimedia content and ability to think creatively about multichannel storytelling.

The salary range for this position is $51,000-$74,000.00. Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
