Job Title: Part-time Marketing Communications Specialist

Established in 2018, The Center of Excellence in Industrial Biotechnology (CoEIB) is seeking a talented and energetic part-time Marketing Communications Specialist to join our team. This role provides the opportunity to craft the Center's branding, establish communication strategies, implement internal and external outreach programs, and other Center activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing communications strategies to promote the Center's mission and goals.
  • Manage the Center's website and social media presence, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Contribute to content creation, including fact sheets, brochures, articles, newsletters, and speaker remarks.
  • Edit and proofread publications, including websites, advertisements, articles, brochures, and feature stories.
  • Prepare creative briefs for concept development and creative expression, and deliver presentations of creative work to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, contractual obligations, confidentiality, and privacy policies, and style and standard guidelines.
  • Work under minimum supervision on varied and sometimes difficult work assignments, conferring with supervisor or subject matter experts on unusual matters.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience in website and social media management.
  • A background in graphic design, photography, and/or video production is a plus.
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing communications and best practices, as well as emerging trends.
  • Experience in editorial, digital, and print marketing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • A background in biotechnology, fermentation, and/or mammalian cell culture is important.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience in selecting and managing the appropriate communication channels for each of the CoEIB's audiences.
  • Contribute to content for fact sheets, brochures, articles, newsletters, speaker remarks, and other internal or external communications.
