Maintenance Technician

POAH Communities is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to community enhancement and the preservation of affordable rental housing for those in need. We are in search of a qualified individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. This role requires a proactive and skilled professional with practical experience in maintenance operations.

POSITION OVERVIEW
  • Ensuring a safe, secure, and pleasant living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Possessing knowledge of relevant laws and EPA and OSHA standards.
  • Monitoring the condition of property throughout the community and promptly addressing any unsafe conditions.
  • Planning and executing routine preventative maintenance on all necessary equipment.
  • Conducting work area clean-up and safety-related tasks.
  • Diagnosing and performing minor and routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensuring all make-ready repairs and services are completed efficiently.
  • Inspecting and assisting in coordinating all required make-ready repairs and services.
  • Helping maintain the grounds in a neat and orderly manner, including raking, sweeping, and shoveling as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance is required.
  • HVAC certification is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License and automobile insurance coverage are necessary, as personal vehicle use may be required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call duties as needed.
  • Proficient and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, reaching overhead, climbing ladders, gripping, and lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs, as well as reading and understanding maintenance forms and warning labels.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions.
