Chief of Endocrinology and Metabolism

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to lead our Endocrinology and Metabolism Division as Chief. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in research, teaching, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide visionary leadership to the Endocrinology and Metabolism Division, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes academic excellence and diversity.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive research program, securing extramural funding and publishing high-impact research in top-tier journals.
• Teach and mentor students, residents, and faculty, promoting a culture of excellence in education and research.
• Collaborate with departmental leaders to advance the mission of the Department of Medicine and the University of California, San Diego.
Requirements
• MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD with an emphasis relevant to endocrinology and metabolism.
• 5+ years of experience in leading a clinical, translational, and/or basic research program.
• Independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar) and 5+ years of research in high-impact journals with 5+ grants and/or publications in endocrinology/metabolism.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.
