Position Overview
The University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Chief, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. This is a tenured position that requires a strong background in endocrinology and metabolism, as well as leadership and management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Division's research, education, and clinical programs
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to achieve the Division's goals and objectives
- Manage and oversee the Division's budget and resources
- Represent the Division and UC San Diego in national and international forums
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of experience in leading a clinical, translational, and/or basic research program
- Independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar)
- 5+ years of research in high-impact journals with 5+ grants and/or publications in endocrinology/metabolism
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and California medical license or equivalent certification/permit
