We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced leader to serve as the Chief, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of California, San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision for the Division, as well as overseeing its research, teaching, and clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction for the Division's research, teaching, and clinical programs
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Division's mission and goals
- Oversee the Division's budget and financial management
- Recruit and retain top talent in the field of endocrinology and metabolism
- Collaborate with other departments and units within the University to advance the Division's mission
- MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD with an emphasis relevant to endocrinology and metabolism
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a research or academic institution
- Independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar)
- 5+ years of research in high impact journals with 5+ grants and/or publications in endocrinology/metabolism
- Board certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine and California medical license or equivalent certification/permit
- National recognition in research
- Experience in leading a research program and mentoring junior faculty
- Strong leadership and management skills
