Your Role

The Facilities Technician is essential in collaborating with various departments to fulfill facility-related requirements and manage repairs, ensuring that all maintenance and operational standards are met for production activities. This position involves performing a range of skilled tasks related to the upkeep and repair of facilities and machinery at our pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to pinpoint and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Execute skilled tasks in the upkeep and repair of facilities and machinery.
  • Carry out regular maintenance duties, including the servicing and repair of industrial equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, and various boiler systems.
  • Maintain and repair clean room equipment and assist in the assembly of prefabricated clean rooms.
  • Support the maintenance of both black and clean utilities.
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance, including HEPA filter installation and certification.
  • Participate in the installation and provide expertise on automated machinery.
  • Perform diverse building maintenance tasks, including repairs to doors, windows, and other structural components; install and maintain electronic lock systems and security measures.
  • Address electrical wiring needs: install and repair wiring, switches, and other electrical components.
  • Assist with PLC requirements as necessary.
  • Support orbital welding tasks on stainless steel as required.
  • Help with compressor maintenance, particularly with regulated cooling systems.
  • Operate various equipment and power tools while ensuring they are maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Organize, prioritize, and coordinate the work of assigned personnel to achieve a wide range of building trade duties.
  • Estimate labor and material costs for work orders and procure competitive pricing for necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records related to labor, materials, and work orders.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify maintenance needs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Recent completion of a technical trade program, apprenticeship, or certification.
  • Basic understanding of electrical technology, HVAC systems, welding, and other technical maintenance fields.
  • Strong desire to learn and excel in the role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management capabilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is a plus.
  • This role requires availability for on-call duties one week per month.
  • Must be able to work full-time and on-site.
