Position Overview

The Facilities Technician is essential in fostering collaboration across various departments to effectively manage facility-related requirements and oversee repairs. This role ensures the maintenance and operational compliance of manufacturing production facilities. Facilities Technicians engage in a range of skilled tasks related to the upkeep and repair of facilities and equipment at our pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to pinpoint and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Execute a variety of skilled tasks in the upkeep and repair of facilities and machinery.
  • Perform regular maintenance activities, including the servicing and repair of industrial systems such as chillers, cooling towers, and boilers.
  • Maintain and repair clean room equipment and assist in the assembly of prefabricated clean rooms.
  • Support the upkeep of both black and clean utilities.
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance, including HEPA filter installation and certification.
  • Contribute to the installation and operation of automated machinery.
  • Carry out various building maintenance tasks, including repairs to doors, windows, and installation of security systems.
  • Address electrical wiring needs, including installation and repair of switches and lighting systems.
  • Assist with PLC requirements as necessary.
  • Support stainless steel orbital welding tasks as needed.
  • Help maintain compressors associated with regulated cooling systems.
  • Operate various tools and machinery, ensuring they are kept in safe and proper working order.
  • Prioritize and coordinate the workload of assigned staff to manage a diverse range of building trade duties.
  • Estimate labor and material costs for work orders and procure necessary supplies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records related to labor, materials, and work orders.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify maintenance needs.
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Recent completion of a technical trade program, apprenticeship, or certification.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and other technical maintenance areas.
  • Strong motivation to learn and excel in the role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is a plus.
  • This position requires on-call availability for one week each month.
  • Full-time, on-site work is required.
