Position Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the production environment and the maintenance required for production equipment. Utilizing experience in electro-mechanical controls, plumbing, electrical systems, and general mechanical knowledge, you will assist our production team in operating safely and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with production staff to ensure optimal functioning of all production processes.
  • Support the Head of Maintenance in establishing a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance program using a CMMS system or similar methods.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with facility maintenance projects as required.
  • Perform packaging or logistics tasks when additional support is necessary to meet production demands.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Notify management of any potential quality or safety issues.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform necessary maintenance and service.
  • Engage in skilled work related to the maintenance and repair of company assets.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, ensuring they are kept in safe working condition.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety practices and procedures.
  • Manage the procurement of tools, equipment, and materials; operate small to medium equipment for supply delivery and pickup.
  • Utilize Burial's work order system to keep staff informed about work orders and their resolutions.

Candidate Profile

  • 2-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in beverage production.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with a focus on workplace and coworker safety.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical operations within a brewery.
  • Self-motivated individual who can manage projects from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in facilities.
  • Comfortable working with electrical systems up to 480v, prioritizing safety.
  • Experience with various packaging and brewing machinery, including VFD programming, PLC, and HMI systems.
  • Knowledge of boiler and glycol chilling systems.
  • Experience in installing new equipment and infrastructure in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of air compressor service.
  • Able to troubleshoot equipment and system issues as they arise.
  • Construction and fabrication skills are beneficial.
  • Basic arithmetic and geometry skills.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and make confident decisions when necessary.
  • Welding experience, particularly in sanitary welding, is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk, drive, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing, bending, twisting, and moving throughout the entire shift.

Additional Information

  • Reports To: Head of Maintenance
  • Compensation: Hourly, Non-Exempt
  • Employment Type: Full-time, hourly pay
  • Job Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with on-call availability and the potential for weekend or night shifts as needed.
