Position Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the production landscape and the maintenance required for production machinery. You will leverage your expertise in electromechanical controls, plumbing, electrical systems, and general mechanical knowledge to support our production team in operating safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with production personnel to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency of all production processes.
- Assist the Head of Maintenance in establishing a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance program using a CMMS system or other digital tools.
- Support the maintenance team with facility upkeep projects as necessary.
- Perform packaging or logistics tasks when additional staff support is required to meet production demands.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe working environment.
- Notify management of any potential quality or safety issues.
- Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and services.
- Execute a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of company assets.
- Utilize a wide range of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety practices and protocols.
- Procure tools, equipment, and materials; operate small to medium machinery for supply delivery and pickup.
- Utilize Burial's work order system to keep staff informed about work orders and their resolutions.
Candidate Profile
- 2-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally within the beverage sector.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Exhibit a safety-oriented mindset in work and colleague interactions.
- Possess a foundational understanding of mechanical operations in a brewery.
- Self-motivated individual who can see projects through from inception to completion.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems within our facilities.
- Comfortable working with electrical systems up to 480v, prioritizing safety.
- Experience with various packaging and brewing machinery, including VFD programming, PLC, and HMI systems.
- Familiarity with boiler and glycol chilling systems.
- Experience in installing new equipment and infrastructure in a production context.
- Knowledge of air compressor servicing.
- Adept at troubleshooting equipment and system issues as they arise.
- Understanding of construction and fabrication principles.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and geometry.
- Experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Strong time management skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
- Able to work independently and make confident decisions as needed, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Welding experience is advantageous, particularly in sanitary welding.
Physical Demands
- Capability to walk, drive, and lift/carry heavy items for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and move throughout the full shift.
Position Details
- Reports To: Head of Maintenance
- Compensation: Hourly, Non-Exempt
- Employment Type: Full-time, hourly pay
- Job Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with on-call availability and potential weekend or night shifts as required.
