About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Engineer to join our team at Prysmian Cables and Systems Usa LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements that impact the bottom line in a fast-paced and performance-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Demonstrate safety leadership and advance our Zero & Beyond safety culture.
  • Expertise Sharing: Share expertise through training and leading others in the use of best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Generate and evaluate the risk/reward priority of improvement opportunities, and be an advocate for Lean Sigma thinking.
  • Results Achievement: Achieve results and ensure sustainment of process controls (CTQ's & CTP's).
  • Team Leadership: Lead and influence teams of diverse individuals at various levels within the organization.
  • Process Optimization: Improve yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic business objectives.
  • Manufacturing Process Development: Develop, document, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes and products using appropriate data and statistical tools.
  • Control Systems and Instrumentation: Baseline understanding and utilization of control systems and instrumentation used to improve process capabilities.
  • Equipment Specification and Procurement: Specification, procurement, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, including capital cost justification and related documentation.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Maintain presence on the shop floor and provide hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment to drive root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Performance Specifications and Bills of Material: Maintain performance specifications and bills of material for all current products.
  • Lean Initiatives: Perform Lean Facilitator duties as required to implement and sustain lean initiatives throughout your area of responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in ME, EE, IE, CE, or MS (Other technical degrees considered when supported with applicable experience, Manufacturing experience desirable).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design, re-design, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment utilized in a continuous operation.
  • Results-Driven Individual: A result-driven individual with a proven track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Project Management: Strong project management abilities, proven ability to use DOE and SPC techniques (Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt experience is a plus).
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Wire and Cable Experience: 2 years' wire & cable experience manufacturing of thermoplastic or thermoset conductors.
  • Project Management Training: Project management training or certification.
