Position Overview: Mentor Coordinator at The DREAM Program

Are you dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and driving positive impact? We are looking for a Mentor Coordinator to oversee the recruitment and training of volunteer mentors within our Village Mentoring framework. This role is crucial in dismantling obstacles and uplifting youth from underrepresented backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training sessions for volunteer mentors to clarify their roles and expectations
  • Identify and recruit passionate individuals to serve as mentors
  • Facilitate effective communication among youth, families, and mentors
  • Provide essential resources and ongoing training for mentors
  • Support and empower a network of volunteer mentors

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the service term
  • Strong passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Proficient in time management and prioritization
  • Access to a reliable phone
  • Valid driver's license is preferred
  • Interest in youth development initiatives
  • Collaborative team player with a positive outlook

Work Environment:

This role encompasses various settings, including professional offices, indoor and outdoor environments, and participants' homes. Regular use of computers, office equipment, and outdoor supplies is expected.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
  • Engagement in physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Effective communication skills and visual acuity for observation

Travel Requirements:

Local and interregional travel is necessary during work hours, with occasional overnight travel anticipated.
