Position Overview:
The Vice President of Institutional Equity is a pivotal executive role within the University, serving as the primary authority on equity matters. This position reports directly to the President and collaborates closely with various administrative offices to ensure adherence to essential federal and state regulations regarding equity and discrimination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead university-wide initiatives to guarantee compliance with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and other relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the management of investigatory personnel and grievance procedures to ensure fair and timely resolution of complaints.
  • Facilitate training sessions for senior leadership and department heads on policies related to discrimination and harassment.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop strategies that mitigate discrimination risks throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the university's Title IX and Equal Opportunity efforts, ensuring the implementation of effective policies and practices.
  • Manage the Annual Affirmative Action Plans and ensure accurate reporting for compliance with federal regulations.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and regulations in higher education to enhance institutional practices.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • A master's degree in a relevant field such as human resources, law, or social sciences.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in investigatory roles, particularly related to equity and compliance.
Preferred:
  • A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in handling cases of sexual misconduct and domestic violence.
