X-Ray Technologist Job Description

At Patient First, we are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement safety procedures for patients, self, and staff to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Create and document x-ray CD copies correctly according to Patient First guidelines.
  • Understand and use x-ray and processing equipment to ensure correct usage.
  • Filing and maintaining all x-ray paperwork.
  • Ensuring patient safety when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment.
  • Understanding and using the automated medical records system.
  • Cleaning work area, biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed.
  • Receiving, moving, and restocking ordered supplies.
  • Adhering to established Patient First policies and procedures.
  • Addressing physician and nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner.
  • Completing tasks listed on checklists for the x-ray area and treatment area.
  • Attending training classes and staff meetings as scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Keyboarding experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • One year of clerical experience preferred.
  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed to practice as Radiologic Technologist or a Limited Radiologic Technologist by the Virginia Board of Health Professions.
