Interventional Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist with pre and post patient assessment, patient teaching, and patient care within the scope of practice.
- Assist with inventory management, schedule coordination, and circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures.
- Assist physicians with a range of procedures using fluoroscopic imaging that require the use of contrast media.
- Use proper radiation safety measures to conform to the ALARA principle according to departmental Radiation Safety Policies & Procedures.
- Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient staff is available for patient appointments.
- Ensure staff explains Interventional Radiology procedures to patients and obtains consent forms.
- Actively participate in the Universal Protocol for all procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure equipment is properly and safely operated.
- Assist staff to confirm images meet radiologist requirements.
- Check imaging and specialty equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
- Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Order equipment, film, and supplies and manage inventories.
- Ensure patient information files are prepared and filed correctly.
- Review and submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.
- Perform QC Lead duties as an Interventional Radiology Technologist as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians, particularly regarding information on angiography procedures requiring specialized patient preparation.
- Maintain proper documentation for internal and external Regulatory compliance.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital supporting fluoroscopy and c-arm/surgical procedures.
- Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire.
- Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Basic Life Support.
