Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with pre and post-patient assessment, patient teaching, and patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Manage inventory, schedule coordination, and circulate and scrub roles during procedures.
  • Assist physicians with a range of procedures using fluoroscopic imaging that require the use of contrast media.
  • Ensure proper radiation safety measures are in place to conform to the ALARA principle.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient staff is available for patient appointments.
  • Explain Interventional Radiology procedures to patients and obtain consent forms.
  • Participate in the Universal Protocol for all procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance on equipment operation.
  • Confirm that images meet radiologist requirements.
  • Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Order equipment, film, and supplies and manage inventories.
  • Prepare and file patient information files correctly.
  • Submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.
  • Perform QC Lead duties as an Interventional Radiology Technologist as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital supporting fluoroscopy and c-arm/surgical procedures.
  • Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support.
