Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Field Project Manager / Party Chief to lead our marine survey teams in the field. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hydrography, geophysics, or geotechnical sampling and will be responsible for managing field operations, overseeing field personnel, and ensuring high-quality data delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage field project operations, including client liaison, planning, and logistics.
  • Act as Party Chief, coordinating with the survey vessel Master and leading the marine survey crew.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to field staff to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality data.
  • Oversee daily data quality control, survey logs, progress reports, and HSE documents.
  • Ensure adherence to HSEQ protocols and prioritize personal and co-worker safety.
  • Communicate effectively with field staff, internal departments, and clients.
  • Monitor schedules, processing issues, and delays, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Supervise equipment maintenance and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a marine science related to the field of endeavor.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in marine survey, with proven experience as a field project manager / party chief.
  • Expertise in one or multiple areas: O&G or Renewable Energy infrastructure projects, submarine cable/pipeline routing, and/or civil/environmental engineering.
  • Working knowledge of marine remote sensing instrumentation and software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and Global Mapper a plus.
  • Troubleshooting capability on equipment.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to write preliminary reports and process data.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel to the main office and survey vessel.
Physical Requirements
  • Alternating periods of standing on a vessel and sitting at a desk.
  • Working in outdoor weather conditions on a vessel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
