Job Overview
We are in search of a Field Party Chief with extensive knowledge in Hydrography, Geophysics, and Geotechnical Sampling.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee field projects, ensuring effective client communication, meticulous planning of field operations, management of survey logistics, supervision of field staff, and maintaining data integrity through quality assurance and quality control processes.

Act as the Party Chief, coordinating with the survey vessel Master while leading the technical and managerial aspects of the marine survey team assigned to the vessel.

Provide strong leadership under challenging conditions, inspiring field personnel to meet project deadlines while delivering accurate data to clients.
Manage daily data quality assurance, survey documentation, progress updates, and health, safety, and environmental records.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality protocols, prioritizing the safety of yourself and your team as Party Chief.
Maintain open and effective communication with field staff.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Monitor timelines, address processing challenges, and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
Supervise the upkeep and maintenance of field equipment.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement in company practices, including safety initiatives and quality management systems.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in marine sciences relevant to the field (hydrography, geophysics, or geotechnical sampling).

5-10 years of pertinent experience in the marine survey industry, showcasing expertise as a field project manager or party chief.

Experience in oil and gas or renewable energy infrastructure projects, submarine cable/pipeline routing, and/or civil/environmental engineering.

Proficient in marine remote sensing tools and software, including GPS systems, IMUs, USBLs, multibeam bathymetry, Side Scan Sonars, Subbottom Profilers, Magnetometers, CTD/SV profilers, and water quality sondes.

Software skills in QINSy, HYPACK, MagLog, Montaj, SonarWiz, SonarPro, Geosuite, Kingdom Suites, and Radex are essential.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and Global Mapper is a plus.

Understanding of navigation and positioning techniques, along with sufficient knowledge of horizontal and vertical datums and datum transformations for quality control oversight.

Ability to troubleshoot equipment, particularly in fine-tuning systems for optimal performance.
Experience in mobilizing third-party vessels from the ground up is advantageous.

Strong writing capabilities to produce preliminary reports and process and interpret data at least to the quality assurance and quality control stages.

Willingness to work remotely during the initial planning phase of a project and during the subsequent data processing/reporting phase.

Travel to the main office for project preparation and cleanup phases, and participate in survey vessel operations for mobilization, survey activities, and demobilization.

This position does not qualify for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
