Job Summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly skilled Survey Project Manager to lead its land surveying team in New York, NY. As a key member of our Survey/Geospatial team, you will be responsible for managing and directing the work efforts of assigned staff, coordinating technical and managerial direction, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage and direct the work efforts of assigned staff, ensuring timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Technical Direction: Coordinate technical and managerial direction provided by Management, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget are met.
  • Work Planning and Budgeting: Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance: Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Team Oversight: Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects, striving to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
  • Business Development: Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals, providing marketing support, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Client Communication: Negotiate with clients on scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules, ensuring all out-of-scope work and associated fees are approved prior to performing services.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent technical and management experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Land Surveying required.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d and Trimble Business Center preferred. NY State Professional Land Surveyor License preferred.
  • Language: Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
