Job Title: Lead Rigger 1

The Lead Rigger position is a critical role within MEI Rigging & Crating, responsible for overseeing all activities on assigned job sites. This position requires a high level of expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage rigging crews of up to 12 people, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement crew plans, aligning with customer and salesmen directions.
  • Direct workforce to meet operational goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule.
  • Supervise and work with machinery moving crews, utilizing forklifts, skates, jacks, and cranes.
  • Train and instruct machinery moving crews in best-known rigging operation practices and procedures, including safety.
  • Collaborate with safety personnel to coordinate safety training, accident investigations, and reporting.
  • Build customer and employee relationships through excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Manage job site projects by documenting and organizing all project information.
  • Represent MEI corporate mission, vision, and values through professional conduct.
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License, Class A CDL preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years' machinery moving foreman experience or comparable experience within the machinery moving industry.
  • Minimum five (5) years' Crane Rigging & Signaling experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience moving machinery with forklift, skating, leveling, and anchoring of machines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and project management skills.
