Job Summary

The Supervisor - Registration Admitting is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the registration admitting department. This includes supervising a team of staff, ensuring proper utilization and effectiveness of assigned staff, and defining and delegating team member responsibilities to ensure a smooth and accurate workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor daily staff performance, staffing levels, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in hiring, training, evaluating, and personnel development, including corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in department processes and improvements.
  • Lead huddles and staff meetings to ensure open communication with staff and leadership.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports and assigned work queues as required.
  • Ensure new processes are rolled out timely and perform periodic quality reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is extended to internal and external customers.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, including physician's offices and hospital referral coordinators.
  • Mentor and develop staff on an individual basis.
  • Act as a financial steward and work with Patient Financial Services to ensure adequate knowledge for interpretation of patient billing questions.
  • Maintain knowledge of current federal regulations regarding admission and registration procedures and ensure adherence to those guidelines.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Business or equivalent experience in Patient Access.
  • 2 years of customer service experience or front office experience in a medical practice/medical billing/registration/financial setting, including 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
