Job Summary

The Supervisor Registration Admitting is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Registration Admitting department. This includes supervising staff, ensuring proper utilization and effectiveness of assigned staff, and defining and delegating team member responsibilities to ensure a smooth and accurate workflow.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor daily staff performance, staffing levels, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in hiring, training, evaluating, and personnel development, including corrective action when necessary.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly reports and assigned work queues as required.
  • Ensure new processes are rolled out timely and perform periodic quality reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Extend the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, foster communication with physicians' offices and hospital referral coordinators, and visit provider offices and hospitals as needed to facilitate scheduling accuracy.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement training and education of employees to achieve performance standards and expectations.
  • Mentor and develop staff on an individual basis.
  • Act as a financial steward and work with Patient Financial Services to ensure adequate knowledge for interpretation of patient billing questions.
  • Maintain knowledge of current federal regulations regarding admission and registration procedures and ensure adherence to those guidelines.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Business or equivalent experience in Patient Access.
  • 2 years of customer service experience or front office experience in a medical practice/medical billing/registration/financial setting, including one year in a supervisory or leadership role.
