Job Title: Bartender

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports To: Beverage Supervisor

Summary

The Bartender mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to any patron who approaches the bar and is responsible for preparing drinks for beverage servers that are serving patrons in restaurants and other F&B venues. Bartenders at Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort may be assigned to work in lounges, restaurants, on the gaming floors, showrooms, at the pool area or at banquets.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time.Takes orders from customers or beverage servers.Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.Collects money for drinks served.Operates a cash register, ringing the proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change.Resourceful with beverages, fruit, and supplies in order to maintain low beverage costs.Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts where available.Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.Ensures that designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinnerware and other used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, cracks, liquid on floor, etc.).

Education and/or Experience

HS/GED required; must be 21 years of age and have at least 1 year of bartending experience, complete in-house training as bar back/beverage server or be a certified bartender. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid Maricopa County Food Handlers card.

Other Qualifications

Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.Must be able to get along with co-workers and be a team player. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in stressful situations. Must be open to work a flexible schedule and be available nights, weekends and holidays, if necessary.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; secondary smoke and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
