Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales and Merchandising Professional to join our team at Eagle Distributing of Shreveport. As a Relief Sales Representative, you will be responsible for maximizing sales in assigned accounts by increasing distribution, shelf space, and displays, while also ensuring product freshness standards and maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximize Sales and Distribution: Increase sales in assigned accounts by expanding distribution, securing price points, and optimizing merchandising efforts.
  • Execute Account Level Objectives: Meet sales obligations and customer needs by maintaining regular call frequency and executing account-level strategies.
  • Ensure Product Freshness: Maintain high product freshness standards in all assigned retail accounts.
  • Build Displays and Merchandise: Build displays, participate in shelf resets, and other merchandising activities to maximize sales and visibility.
  • Manage Inventory Levels: Sustain proper inventory levels at retail accounts to prevent out-of-stock or over-stock situations.
  • Provide Market Feedback: Offer periodic feedback on competitive market data to inform sales strategies.
  • Resolve Customer Service Issues: Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer service issues, such as credit/collection, deliveries, and other concerns.
  • Maintain Accurate Inventory Levels: Ensure accurate inventory levels in Mobility handheld.
  • Attend Sales Meetings: Participate in sales meetings and daily interactions with management to discuss sales issues, competitive activities, and opportunities to maximize sales efforts.
  • Participate in Promotions: Participate in evening and weekend promotions as necessary.
  • Safety Awareness and Prevention: Prioritize safety awareness and prevention, performing pre- and post-trip inspections on company vehicles and following all traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Age and Driving Record: Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Self-Motivation and Results Orientation: Highly self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, and be attentive to details.
  • Selling and Negotiation Skills: Strong selling and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and close deals.
  • Math and Computer Skills: Good math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Flexibility and Teamwork: Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and as part of a team, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Repetitive bending, lifting up to 20 lbs, pulling/pushing up to 250 pounds on a two-wheeler, and hanging point-of-sale merchandise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Selling or Merchandising Experience: Prior selling or merchandising experience preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED: High school diploma or GED certificate required; college degree preferred.
