Position Overview:
AKRF's IT Department is in search of a full-time Desktop Support Technician to provide assistance across all our offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting end-users and managing desktop systems, addressing both hardware and software challenges. This role requires flexibility to travel to various offices as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address technical assistance requests through various channels including in-person, phone, ticketing systems, and email.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
- Utilize available resources to research and answer inquiries.
- Adhere to standard help desk protocols.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team members as needed.
- Identify urgent situations and escalate them promptly.
- Document and track problems and requests, ensuring resolutions are recorded.
- Stay updated with system information, changes, and updates.
- Review and enhance help desk documentation as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft desktop technologies (M365, Teams, Windows 10/11).
- Experience with Active Directory administration, including user account management and group memberships.
- Basic knowledge of PowerShell for troubleshooting and discovery purposes.
- Understanding of group policy and script behavior.
- Fundamental knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting (both wired and wireless).
- Self-motivated with strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
