About the Role
This Clinical Support Specialist position plays a vital role in the success of our outpatient wound care center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in office administration and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include coordinating with Center leadership, participating in staff meetings, and providing excellent patient care. This role also involves obtaining and verifying patient insurance information, collecting and entering patient charges, and arranging for patient transportation as needed.

Responsibilities
* Coordinate with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census* Participate in staff meetings to support key functions within the Center* Greet patients and other visitors, answer and route calls to appropriate staff* Maintain all patient communication needs, including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders* Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services* Collect and enter patient charges in databases* Verify and reconcile charges as directed, prepare monthly patient survey data and appropriate documentation, then transmit to providers* Assemble new patient charts, maintain and file existing patient charts, and spot check charts for data completeness and signatures* Coordinate/schedule ancillary testing with other hospital departments* Arrange for patient transportation as needed* Maintain office equipment and supplies as needed, and medical supplies as directed

Qualifications
* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)* Minimum of two years office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting* Prior medical coding experience preferred* Proficient in Microsoft Office* Good customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing* Organization and time-management skills* Ability to type 60 words per minute* Basic math skills* Attention to details

Salary Information
$18.84-$24.55 per hour, based on qualifications, education, and operational needs.
