Position Summary
- Lead the financial reporting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, while providing critical insights into revenue streams, production costs, and operational expenditures.
- Work closely with executive leadership to formulate comprehensive annual budgets and strategic plans for agricultural operations, enhancing resource allocation and driving profitability.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring precise invoicing, prompt collections, and effective resolution of any discrepancies related to produce sales.
- Manage financial planning for capital, operational, and farm budgets, including annual expenditures, return on investment analysis, and reporting on capital improvement initiatives.
- Review bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, maintaining accurate financial records and monitoring cash flow from sales and operational expenses.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, coordinating timely filings and collaborating with tax advisors to navigate industry-specific requirements.
- Engage with auditors and external advisors to guarantee the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting and other deliverables.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial transactions related to agricultural operations.
- Provide executive summaries and monthly reports that highlight market trends, yield analysis, and opportunities for operational optimization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as the technical expert on U.S. GAAP, ensuring adherence to accounting standards across the organization.
- Conduct profitability analyses and develop key performance indicators to enhance operational efficiency in all aspects of agricultural management.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with food and agricultural production is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA certification is highly preferred, along with a strong understanding of relevant accounting principles.
- Proficient in agriculture accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management capabilities.
