Job Summary

The Electrical Controls Specialist applies electrical and electronic theory to design, build, repair, calibrate, and modify electrical components, circuitry, control systems, and machinery. This role is part of Pace Industries' commitment to innovation and excellence in die casting and manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities

This position includes but is not limited to the following:

* Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, Industrial Control systems, and relay control circuits, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interfaces.
* Perform testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of PLC and Industrial Control systems, working on AC and DC systems up to 480 volts.
* Design motor controls involving full-voltage starters, VFDs, and soft-starts.
* Provide technical support on motor control systems, PLCs, PLC programming for Maintenance Techs and electricians for implementation on plant equipment.
* Provide in-house training documents, prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts.
* Prepare specifications and standard operating instructions for processes and equipment.

Requirements

This role requires a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills. The candidate must be willing to embrace new technology and change, constantly seeking improvement. They must possess good written and verbal communication skills, be able to read, understand, and execute written directives, and possess good math skills. Physical demands include being able to lift 50lbs, reach and lift moderately heavy parts, and stand on one's feet for at least 8 hours per day.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred, although candidates with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology combined with real-world application in a manufacturing environment will be considered. Experience in the field of die casting, machining, and assembly is a plus, with an emphasis on Industrial Controls, integrated circuits, digital and analog circuits, and programming.
