Cloud Security Architect

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 12+ months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate security and technical specifications into business needs while effectively communicating security risks to stakeholders, including business executives and technical teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in information security architecture and systems engineering, collaborating with IT and business units.
  • Provide constructive feedback on security frameworks and architectures.
  • Implement security architectures for cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Utilize cloud-based APIs to develop network/system-level tools aimed at protecting cloud environments.
  • Automate security measures, data management, and processes to enhance metrics and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of systems automation technologies and platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's security policies and standards applicable to cloud environments.
  • Guide and influence cross-functional teams in the deployment and management of Cyber Security controls.
  • Work closely with application developers and database administrators to devise innovative solutions for complex technological challenges and business needs.
  • Engage with business teams to comprehend their immediate and long-term technical and business objectives.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to business applications and facilitate testing.
  • Conduct technical/business demonstrations of completed business requirements.
  • Stay informed about emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and integrate new security technologies and best practices into the organization's cloud offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; however, a High School diploma/GED with substantial experience in Information Systems or Computer Science will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems along with cloud provider ecosystems such as Amazon AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS foundational services related to computing, networking, storage, content delivery, administration, security, deployment, and automation technologies.
  • Proficient in microservices programming (AWS Lambda, Docker, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in architecting, designing, and programming applications, with proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, and Visual Basic.
  • Ability to design highly available systems that leverage load balancing, horizontal scalability, and redundancy.
  • DevOps expertise in building and deploying infrastructure using cloud deployment and automation technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, DynamoDB, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53, etc.).
  • Understanding of complex enterprise environments and current technology trends, including cloud and mobility.
  • Certification: Candidates should possess CISSP or equivalent security-related industry certifications, along with AWS Associate or higher certification.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information to diverse audiences, including business leaders, engineers, clients, and team members.
  • Teamwork: The Cloud Security Architect must work collaboratively with various multi-disciplinary teams, emphasizing the successful achievement of collective goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities are crucial for continuously monitoring systems to identify threats and vulnerabilities, executing security architecture, and ensuring protection against external threats.
