Inventory Controller
Key Responsibilities

As an Inventory Controller at Restaurant Depot, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of physical inventory at the branch, using a scan gun to obtain information, and making decisions on pricing to ensure gross margins are maintained.


Essential Functions
  • Maintain accurate physical inventory at the branch.
  • Use a scan gun to move merchandise and obtain information.
  • Make decisions on pricing and ensure gross margins are maintained.
  • Communicate margin issues to buyers and follow up for a timely response.
  • Review sales price differential reports and make changes as needed.
  • Ensure cycle counts are conducted on a timely and regular basis.
  • Train staff for inventory purposes and conduct semi-annual inventories.
  • Coordinate Inventory Control with Receiving, Perishables, Dry Goods Floor, and Front End to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Supervise Stock-taker and coordinate writing of adjustment vouchers to vendors.
  • Responsible for liquor and tobacco tax filings with governmental agencies.
  • Report shrink and research causes.
  • Control markdowns & voids by monitoring damages and overstock.
  • Analyze and determine reasons for negative inventory and margins.
  • Review store statistical reports for abnormal or erroneous data.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail or wholesale.
  • Background in Physical Inventory maintenance/control.
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to supervise and direct employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Must be PC literate; working knowledge of MS Office; 10-key skills a big plus.
