Job Summary

As a Medical Respiratory Nurse at SSM Health, you will provide direct nursing care to patients requiring complex assessments and interventions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, analyze data, and develop individualized plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with the interprofessional team to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote health literacy and improve patient outcomes.
  • Leadership and Professional Development: Contribute to the development of nursing practice, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.
  • Experience: No experience required; new graduates welcome to apply.
Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Physical Demands: Constant standing, walking, and use of speech; frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Environmental Demands: Frequent exposure to noise, stress, and hazardous materials.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certification: American Heart Association (AHA)
