Job Summary

As a Medical Respiratory Nurse at SSM Health, you will provide direct nursing care to patients requiring complex assessments and interventions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interprofessional team, and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Assessment and Planning: Obtain comprehensive data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic picture of patient needs or conditions.
  • Diagnosis and Intervention: Analyze and synthesize data to determine diagnoses or conditions relevant to care, and develop plans to attain optimal outcomes.
  • Implementation and Evaluation: Implement plans, employing strategies to promote and maintain a safe environment, and evaluate processes and progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional team, and contribute to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • Experience: No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant Use: Speech to share information through oral communication, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent Use: Lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs, sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional Use: Lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs, lifting/moving patients, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN), or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
Work Shift and Job Type

Night Shift (United States of America), Employee, Medical/Respiratory Care Unit, 36 hours per week.
