Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Revenue Integrity, the Revenue Recognition Manager will oversee the processes of revenue acknowledgment, reporting, and analysis for patient billable revenue and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SCA Health's internal policies and controls. This role involves leading a team of revenue accountants and analysts, providing support for accounting and analytics related to SCA Health's investments in physician practices.
- Guide, develop, and mentor revenue accountants and analysts, fostering a knowledge-sharing environment and serving as a revenue authority in identifying and resolving accounting issues.
- Promote a culture of achievement within the team—emphasizing customer focus, open communication, career development, team cohesion, and recognition of team accomplishments.
- Design, implement, and uphold processes for accurate and timely financial data analysis, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Review the work of revenue accountants to guarantee the production of high-quality deliverables.
- Develop and manage key performance metrics to provide insights into team performance and ensure that objectives are met.
- Analyze payor contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with ASC 606 and SCA Health's policies.
- Summarize and communicate proposed solutions effectively to various audiences, tailoring the message to their understanding and experience levels.
- Maintain communication and collaboration with leadership across stakeholder groups, including Market Accounting, Cash Accounting, Financial Operations, Revenue Cycle Operations, and Integration Accounting to achieve strategic goals.
- Effectively convey the financial implications of facility-level revenue and accounts receivable issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist management with oversight of special projects and ad hoc revenue reporting requirements.
- Continuously evaluate revenue processes to enhance efficiency and quality of work products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- CPA and/or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate and/or public accounting is required.
- At least 2 years of management experience is necessary.
- Experience in physician practice and healthcare settings is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with patient accounting systems and revenue cycle processes is important.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills are required.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills are essential.
