Behavioral Health Specialist II

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Health Specialist II to join our team at Fairfax County. The successful candidate will work in a residential treatment facility providing support to individuals diagnosed with substance use and mental health disorders.
Responsibilities:
* Provides weekly individual and/or group therapy and counseling, utilizing appropriate evidenced-based clinical models and interventions.
* Participates in individual and small group clinical supervision meetings to discuss assigned caseloads and presenting clinical challenges, while expanding knowledge, skills, abilities to appropriately assess, diagnose, and treat individuals.
* May receive clinical supervision for licensure and/or CSAC certification requirements on-site or within the CSB agency.
* Performs multi-dimensional assessments of referred individuals and supports admissions to the program.
* Completes comprehensive clinical documentation and treatment planning to meet DBHDS and Medicaid standards.
* Collaborates with other divisions and external agencies in the provision of services to individuals and supporting individual's transition to the community.
* Serves as essential/emergency personnel and is required to report to work during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.
Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counseling, or a related field, plus 1,500 hours of clinical experience.
* OR a bachelor's degree and a valid QMHP certification plus 1,500 hours of clinical experience.
* OR a master's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counseling, or a related field plus 500 hours of clinical experience.
* Valid motor vehicle driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or the equivalent in another state) maintained throughout employment with CSB.
* First Aid and CPR certification, within 90 days of appointment and maintained throughout CSB employment.
* Medication Administration Assistance Certification within 90 days of appointment.
* MANDT within 6 months of appointment.
* Hold current certification in Commonwealth of Virginia as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or initiate clinical supervision for CSAC certification within 90 days of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 2 plus years of professional experience working in a residential treatment program.
* 2 plus years of professional experience providing therapy and case management services to individuals who have co-occurring serious mental health and substance use disorders.
* Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC-Assistant certification.
* Licensed to practice or registered to begin clinical supervision for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following:
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
* Licensed Professional Counselor,
* Clinical Psychologist,
* Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,
* Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or
* Clinical Nurse Specialist
