Kitchen Equipment Technician

Joe Warren & Sons Company Inc. (JWS), a prominent provider of commercial refrigeration and culinary equipment services across New England, is looking to expand its team with a dedicated Kitchen Equipment Technician. Established in 1991, JWS is a family-owned business based in Norwood, MA, known for its exceptional growth fueled by strong customer loyalty and a commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, servicing, and installation of commercial cooking and food preparation equipment.
  • Complete service assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to identify and recommend necessary parts.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle, ensuring accurate inventory of tools and parts.
  • Engage with manufacturers to assist in diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Analyze equipment problems, gather relevant data, and determine the necessary work to be performed.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers, effectively communicating the required services.
  • Promote additional services offered by JWS to clients.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED, along with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrate passion and empathy towards customers and colleagues.
  • Proficient in using hand tools for precise tasks.
  • Strong safety awareness and capability to navigate stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in gas, electric, plumbing, and/or steam systems.
  • A minimum of five years in commercial equipment repair or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a self-motivated and team-oriented mindset.
  • Physical capabilities: frequent kneeling, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions.
  • Experience working with mechanical parts, pressurized systems, and in potentially hazardous conditions.
